Meeting on Big Data Development

On 28 November 2019, the ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat organized a joint meeting on “Big Data Development” among the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), as well as the delegation from Talaad Thai, the largest wholesale market for agri-food in the ASEAN region. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Rapibhat Chandarasrivongs, Secretary General of OAE and participated by the APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, and representatives from OAE. The main objective of the meeting was to share knowledge and experiences, exchange views and techniques on the big data development, along with the discussion, in order to not only improve the efficiency on agricultural data collecting in Thailand but also strengthen food security in the region.
