Data Analysis Training in Lao PDR as a Part of SAS-PSA Project

The Center for Agricultural Statistics (CAS), Department of Planning and Finance (DoPF), Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Lao PDR, together with AFSIS Secretariat, had conducted a Data Analysis Training in Lao PDR during 6-10 September 2021 as a part of project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region or SAS-PSA project. In this training, Mr. Sengphachan Khounthikoummane, the National Consultant of SAS-PSA project in Lao PDR had performed as a lead lecturer, along with Mr. NIIMI Tomohiro, the Japanese Expert as an advisor. The purpose of the data analysis workshop is to develop the capacity building for CAS staff to be able to analyze the data obtained and understand the formula, themes and sub-indicator of SDG indicator 2.4.1 in order to calculate the proportion of agricultural area under productive and sustainable agriculture. At the meeting, the CAS staff learnt to calculate the data using Microsoft Excel on SDG Sub-indicator 1-9 and 11 as well as using “R” program for SDG Sub-indicator 10. The training went successfully with a great cooperation from both CAS staff and AFSIS Secretariat.
