The 8th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council

The 8th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council was held by APTERR Secretariat on 17-19 February 2020 in Bagan, Myanmar. The meeting was attended by the representatives from 10 ASEAN Member States, the representatives from plus three countries and observers from other organizations. The representatives from the AFSIS Secretariat, Mr. Vinit Atisook and Ms. Thidarat Thammasorn attended the meeting on the realization of the work plan and budget plan for the fiscal year 2019, the work plan and Annual operational budget proposal for the fiscal year 2020 of the APTERR Secretariat and also joined the social programs and site visits at World Heritage Site in Bagan. The meeting has approved the work plan and operational budget proposal for the fiscal year 2020 of the APTERR. The Secretary-General of the Office of Agricultural Economics has suggested that APTERR should consider increasing the reserved rice quantity in the form of contract to corresponding to the current world situation. The meeting noted the impressive progress of the AFSIS’s works and appreciated the plan for considering to frequently provide more natural disaster-related information in the AFSIS reports to support the FEMI.
