AFSIS has disseminated emergency information on agricultural damage caused by natural disasters in the ASEAN region through the project titled "Report and Disseminate Information Regarding Serious Disasters". Implemented since 2023 to strengthen food security, this project aligns with ASEAN’s regional frameworks consisting of the ASEAN Integrated Food Security (AIFS) Framework and the Strategic Plan of Action on Food Security in the ASEAN Region (SPA-FS). It aims to enhance food security information in the region in terms of both quality and quantity, particularly during emergencies.

On 15 August 2026, a major M7.7 earthquake struck offshore Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The earthquake caused damage to agricultural infrastructure and facilities across several regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The Government of Indonesia continues to prioritize the use of national capacities and resources in responding to the earthquake and has not yet requested or opened the response to international assistance.
