The 41th Meeting of the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB)

On 16 June 2021, The 41th Meeting of the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB) hosted by Brunei Darussalam Darussalam was held as a Video Conference through Zoom platform due to COVID-19 pandemic. The 26 participants of the meeting included AFSRB Secretariat, AFSRB Member States namely; Brunei Darussalam Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, ASEAN Secretariat, APTERR Secretariat, and AFSIS Secretariat had attended the meeting as well.

The 9th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council

On 28 May 2021, the 9th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council was held as a virtual conference through Cisco Webex Video Conference. The Meeting was organized by the APTERR Secretariat and hosted by the National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Agriculture, the Philippines. The meeting was attended by the representatives from the APTERR members and observers from other organizations such as ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat, ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB), and ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC).

Data Analysis Workshop of Project for SAS-PSA in Thailand

On May 6, 2021, Center for Agricultural Information (CAI), Agricultural Development Policy and Planning Division, Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand, had conducted a virtual workshop with AFSIS Secretariat regarding the Data Analysis Training Workshop as a part of project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region or SAS-PSA project in Thailand. In this regard, Mr. NIIMI Tomohiro, Japanese Expert, have performed as a lecturer in this workshop with the assistance of Ms.Worada Wongsud, the Japanese Secretary.

The Multi-stakeholder Virtual Consultation on the FAO Regional Strategy on Food Loss and Waste Reduction in Asia and the Pacific

The ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) had attended the Multi-stakeholder virtual consultation on the FAO Regional Strategy on Food Loss and Waste Reduction in Asia and the Pacific conducted by FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific on 1-2 June 2021. There are 92 participants from various organization and countries over the world, with 2 participants from AFSIS Secretariat led by Ms. Thanchanok Pongputhinan, Assistant AFSIS Manager.

The 1st Meeting with Lao PDR of Project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region

On 13 May 2021, the first meeting of Project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region (SAS-PSA) for 2nd year project (2021), Lao PDR, had been hold virtually as the video conference. There are delegates from Center for Agricultural Statistics, Department of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Lao People Democratic Republic (CAS) along with AFSIS Secretariat.

Field Survey Observation of SAS-PSA project in Thailand

Mr. Pollachet Tracho, Deputy Secretary General, Office of Agriculture Economics (OAE), and AFSIS Secretariat led by Dr. Waraporn Saelee, AFSIS Manager, and Mr. NIIMI Tomohiro, Japanese Expert, had traveled to Chachoengsao province, Thailand, on 15-17 March 2021 to observe enumerators on conducting pilot survey in the project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN region or SAS-PSA project in Thailand.

AFSIS Secretariat and FAORAP Consultation On SAS-PSA Project

AFSIS Secretariat had an opportunity to consult with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) regarding a project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region (SAS-PSA) related to SDG indicator 2.4.1.
